Floyd has deep regrets about leaving Rio de Janeiro. Joe slips off to Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Bobby reads all about the Chillingworth murders in the paper.

Floyd recounts his life story to two close friends, with all of the sordid details. Detective Henry Lovern takes on the greatest challenge of his career.

 

Floyd returns to Florida from Brazil, compelled to settle accounts with Joe. Joe takes steps to ensure his safety.

 

Joe and Floyd develop their most profitable enterprise yet, capitalizing on greedy investors of all ages. But just as their company has become a well-oiled machine, his past exploits force Floyd into exile.

Sheriff John Kirk reaches out to the Florida Sheriff’s Bureau for help when the body of a young man from Jacksonville surfaces in a canal. The Sheriff’s Bureau assigns the case to a progressive, relentless young detective, Henry Lovern.

When the feds arrest Bobby in a moonshine sting operation, Floyd offers to take extreme steps to improve his friend’s chances for acquittal in his upcoming trial.

 

Shortly after they enter the bookmaking business, Joe and Floyd incur a huge debt to an unforgiving customer connected to the Tampa mob. Joe concocts a risky plan to generate the cash they need to make their customer whole. 

 

 

Joe and Floyd join forces with Bobby Lincoln, a sharp, ambitious racketeer who runs a diversified group of illicit enterprises in the black community. The unlikely brethren cross racial lines and develop a scheme to capitalize on Joe’s influence as a judge.
